柳宗元根据他亲自接触和认识的蒋氏,了解了永州人民在永贞革新失败后,在中唐统治者的沉重赋税和残酷的徭役残害下,争相捕蛇以代替赋税的悲惨境况,进而塑造了一位麻木、冷漠的乱世平民的艺术典型,这个不多见的艺术形象,是我国艺术典型长廊中最早的“阿Q”。
