Hyperreality and Media Hegemony: Hyperrealism as Theory of World Crisis

Socially observed, Jean Baudrillard＇s hyperrealism is the theory of contemporary world crisis, rooting itself in an epistemology characteristic of the so-called information era. This crisis is the result of media hegemony and its evils： by providing totalitarian messages, present-day media degrades itself as a means of new enslavement that monopolizes the consciousness of the public, and is to be blamed for their apathy and passivity, and consequently becomes a notorious source of world trouble. Then, when Baudrillard speaks of the Gulf War and ＂9· 11＂ Event, he is authentically manifesting his own theory with live samples.
