Impact of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea to the Education of Marine Geography in our Country

《联合国海洋法公约》对中国的生效,对我国的海洋地理教育产生了深远影响。主要表现为:在地理教育内容上应对国家领土主权的概念重新定位,改革现行地理教材;使国防安全教育有了更准确的空间范围指向;将影响我国海洋法制进程;对海洋资源可利用的范围有了新的界定;使受教育群体多样化;对地理人才的培养目标和地理教育工作者提出了更高的要求。

The ＂United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea＂ has become effective in China, which brings forth opportunities and challenges to our country in vindicating sea rights and interests and establishing international system on sea and plotting out maritime space. These can make a magnitude influence on our marine geographic education. The influence is as follows：it demands the concept of national territory should be redefined and the active teaching materials should be reformed;it makes the education of national defense having more exact spatial range and affects the process of legal system on sea in China and redefines the range of sustaining utilizing oceanic resources; it gives variety to the people who receive marine education;it brings forward higher requests to the cultivate aim of persons with geographic ability and to the geographic teaching staff.
