Hawthorne adopts the narrative strategy characterized with the essence of interlocution in the second chapter in which Hester Prynne is first presented. The mode of narration based on the interlocution makes the puzzling reader communicate with the narrative target directly. Furthermore, reader approaches the time and space in which the characters are placed and even the state of the mind of the characters, thus cognition and acceptance come with the reader psychologically.
