摘要
本文结合电视新闻文体,运用翻译理论分析了如何以传播效应为目的进行英语电视新闻编译。译者在编译英语电视新闻时一方面应根据电视新闻的特性长话短说.另一方面应考虑受众的理解能力短话长说。两者都是基于以受者为中心这样一个前提,以传播效应为编译决策的唯一目标。
Applying insights from translation theories and in reference to stylistic norms of TV news scripts as well, this article discusses the way to adapt source materials in Chinese for TV news in English. It concludes that C-E translators of news reports should both KISS (keep it short and simple) in accordance with the rules for TV news scripting, and add necessary interpretations in the adaptation process, so as to ensure a more effective communication.
