On the Classroom Teaching of English

长期以来,大学英语课堂教学以教师讲授为基本模式,由于班级规模偏大,课时少,精读课教学无法摆脱以句子为基本单位讲解课文的局限,影响了学生语言基本功和实际运用语言能力的提高,更无暇顾及学生口语,听力和写作的训练。如何改变这种状况,成为当前迫切的课题。

College English classroom teaching has been teacher- centered and base on sentence -explanation for quite a long time because of the large scale and time limit of class. In addition, the restriction on content of text cannot improve students＇ practical abilities in using English and cannot concentrate on the training of speaking, listening and writing abilities. Based on these, this article discusses the concerning classroom teaching art.
