Reviewing the Researches of“The Border Town”by Shen Cong-wen in the Past Decade

纵览近十年的《边城》研究,其兴奋的视阈可归纳为牧歌说、悲剧—挽歌说、文化—原型批评说等三种类型。《边城》整个小说有着浓重、多层次的象征意义,用文化—原型批评的方法来审视小说中弥漫着的淡淡哀愁将会有全新的诠释。

Based on the researches of The Border Town in the past ten years, there are three kinds of visions about it： pastoral, tragedy, and culture--prototype criticism. The author of this paper believes that, as a whole, the novel is meaningful and symbolic. Culture and prototype criticism is helpful for producing a completely new interpretation of the novel.
