The research focuses on classroom interaction structure and teacher language through classroom observation. The 10 subjects were chosen randomly on levels of gender, teaching experience, schools (key or ordinary), and teaching classes. The observation reveals that the main classroom interaction structure is IRF, and the interactions are frequent and successful. The teachers often start the interactions with questions, maintain and balance the interactions by means of meaning negotiation, prompt feedback, meta-language and body language, etc. However, the content of interaction mainly centers on language drilling rather than meaningful language communication, which hinders the learners' language learning and acquisition.
