Setup of a video camera-computer monitoring system for study of sexual preference and sexual behavior of rats

目的建立大鼠性偏爱及性行为视频跟踪观察系统。方法利用计算机视频分析和跟踪技术,并应用MiceGrayAuto软件和MiceGrayManu软件分析大鼠的性偏爱和性行为。结果通过视频跟踪,实现计算机上实时观察并记录大鼠性偏爱和性行为活动,成像清晰稳定,可重复观看,实验资料直观、客观。结论本实验建立的大鼠的性偏爱及性行为视频跟踪观察系统性能良好,为进一步研究提供了较好地实验和技术平台。

Objective To construct a video camera-computer monitoring system for study of sexual preference and sexual behavior of rats. Methods By using this system, the activities of rats were monitored and recorded. The sexual preference and sexual behavior of rats which were recorded, will be subsequently analyzed by u- sing MiceGrayAuto software and MiceGrayManu software, Results The real-time video camera-computer monitoring system which was used in observing the sexual preference and sexual behavior, shows clear and stable video images that can be reviewed or analyzed simultaneously with difference parameters, and produces direct and impersonal image data from MiceGrayAuto software and MiceGrayManu software, Conclusion This video camera-computer monitoring system is an ideal and reliable method for studying sexual preference and sexual behavior of rats, and it provides a new platform for further studies in neurobiology.
