This paper puts forward a method to achieve CAM controller in ATM interface of high performance router. At the beginning of the paper, the article introduces the functions of CAM component and basic requirements of designing of CAM controller, then a method to achieve CAM controller is raised, furthermore, the paper discusses the possible performance of the program in FPGA. Finally, the effect of the designing is demonstrated in practice.
