Content of muscle adenine nucleotides around the wound channel is assayed in 16 dogs after high-velocity missile injury and associated with hemorrhagic shock. Significant decrease in ATP, energy charge, total adenine nucleotides occur only in the discolored area and these volues fall more obviously in the case complicated with hemorrhagic shock. The results suggest that insufficient energy supply is an important reason for cellular metabolic disorder after high-velocity missile trauma.
