中外文化交流与岭南近代散文风格之嬗变

Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchanges and the Transmutation of the Style of Modern Prose of the Lingnan School

岭南近代文学是中国近代文学的重要组成部分。它的生长、发育、成熟与中外文化交流这股“东风”关系极为密切;作为岭南近代文学的重要表征———风格,也深深烙上了外来文化的印痕。岭南近代散文在近代中外文化交流广泛、深刻、持久的影响下,其风格的嬗变轨迹是极为突显的:以经世类散文为主脉的岭南近代散文随着经世致用和启蒙图强文学思潮的起伏流动而俯仰前行,在功利化与通俗化的创作洪流里时时注入艺术追求的清流,在新思想、新事物、新名词与旧文字、旧句法、旧语法混凝而成的河床里鼓噪前行,呈现出与传统散文相异的整体风格———平易缜密,雄深闳肆。

Modern Literary works by the so-called Lingnan writers are an important part of Modern Chinese Literature.Its growth,development,and maturation were all closely related to the comprehensive Sino-Foreign cultural exchanges.As one of its significant features,its style was also branded with influence of foreign cultures.Moreover,under the long and profound influence of the comprehensive modern Sino-Foreign cultural exchanges,the track of the transmutation of its style is very easy to trace: the modern Lingnan prose works,most of which were engaged with political and social affairs,along with the ebb and flow of the thoughts of political commitment and social enlightenment,adding fresh water of artistic quest into the current of literary creation.Advancing noisily in the river of combination of new thoughts,new phenomena,and new vocabulary on the one hand and the old one,old syntax,and old grammar on the other,modern Lingnan prose manifested an overall style that is totally different from traditional prose: an easy but meticulous,grandiose and profound,magnificent and unreserved.
