The paper looks into the development of the constructive process of West China Union University in the light of its social cultural background and the historical changes. In judging and analyzing the construction idea and planning model of West China Union University, the paper explores the historical influence of western mission- aries on the campus planning and construction. Then it points out the active significance and socio -cultural influences of this case in the communication between Chinese and Western cultures.
