对高等学校分类办学的意义、原则和方法进行讨论。高等学校办学分类,必须反映大学职能的本质特征,遵从高等教育规律,依法分类、科学分类、自主分类,充分体现时代性、具有前瞻性、注重现实性。高等学校实行分类办学、多样化发展,是高校找准自己的位置,最终办出特色和水平的重要课题。

University＇s classification of running school and its diverse development are not only the need of its own development but also its intrinsic need of social progress. Presently, with higher education＇s deeper reform, its further development and rapid popularity, higher education in China has displayed a developing trend with diversity, different levels and personalization. So we are facing some problems that we should classify universities scientifically and reasonably so that it is helpful to construct its suitable system and display its school enthusiasm. This relates to formulating government management policy and university evaluation criteria, distributing education resources fairly and rationally and developing higher education with many levels, diversitise and classifications comprehensively, coordinately and sustainably. Thus, the important topic that we are facing in our country＇s higher education＇s reform and development is just to make a scientific and reasonable classification.
