Commercial building energy consumption survey （CBECS） is a large survey towards the energy consumption and energy-related characteristics of the commercial buildings in the USA. Presents the whole process of CBECS and some data-processing work after the survey. Compares it with the energy supply survey conducted yearly by the Energy Information Administration （EIA）. Analyses its use as a reference to China＇s energy consumption statistic.
