It is introduced in the paper the working principle and circuit characteristics of plasma display screen for electric locomotives, especially the design of power supply transformer. Switched by field effect transistors,this power supply is a self excited DC-DC converter and features simple circuit,compact,high efficiency and reliable working. It has been successfully applied on SS8 electric locomotive.
