摘要
光纤偏振模色散是限制高速光纤通信系统传输容量的极限因素,在国内首次用两种方法实现了对光纤偏振模色散的测量;波长扫描法能测量较大范围内的偏振模色散,可以做为基准测量法;改进的OTDR可以近似测量偏振模色散较小的光纤。
Polarization mode dispersion(PMD) in fiber seriously limites high capacity optical fiber communication system. Two methods of measuring PMD in single-mode fiber are realized in China for the first time. Wavelength scanning method can measure wider scope of PMD, and it can be taken as precise method. Modified OTDR can also measure small value of PMD in fiber, but it can observe the characteristics of birefringence in detail.
