摘要
“五四”时代,面对“欧化的狂癖”,闻一多异常自觉而清醒地思索并实践着现代诗歌的民族性建构这一重大课题。他既主动地取法西方又坚决地反对“欧化”,既诚挚地珍爱传统又断然地否定复古,决心在中西诗歌艺术相互交流和影响的基础上,建构现代中国诗歌的民族性。他认为,现代中国的诗歌固然应该具有“现代”的色彩,但“其当存之中国艺术之特质则不可没”。为了探求“中国艺术之特质”,闻一多曾经对律诗进行过认真的研究,指出律诗的艺术形式中“有个中国式的人格在”。
In May the Fourth Movement, facing the paranoia of Europeanization, Wen Yiduo, with extraordinary self-consciousness, soberly put into his contemplation and practice the national construction of modern Chinese poetry. Actively learning from the West but firmly resisting against Europeanization, wholeheartedly cherishing our tradition but determinedly refusing the revival of antiquity, he made up his mind to establish the nationality of modern Chinese poetry on the basis of mutual exchange and impact between China and the West. He believes that modern Chinese poetry should undoubtedly be modern but the characteristics of Chinese art can not be erased. For this purpose, he made a very careful study of the Chinese classical poetry and found out in it the very nature of Chinese nationality.
