A Discussion on How to Judge the New Social Duty For Colleges and Universities

文章从功能与职能的概念辨析着手,在阐述高等学校三大社会职能产生背景的基础上,提出高校职能的判定标准,即根本条件———高等学校的结构与功能;先决条件———社会经济的转型;必要条件———明确的指导思想和成功实践模式。

From the analysis on definition of ＂function＂ and ＂duty＂, the paper tries to bring out the criteria for the social duties of colleges and universities on the bases of expatiating the background of the three established duties, i.e. fundamental conditions—— structure and function of colleges and universi- ties, preconditions—— social and economic conversion, and necessary conditions ——clear polestar and successful practical pattern.
