中国当代小说,特别是“十七年小说”和“文革小说”几乎一直都在伦理与政治的张力中做着奋力的挣扎,形成了政治伦理化和伦理政治化两股创作潮流。在政治伦理化小说创作潮流中,郭澄清大部分短篇小说的重心一直在对人性、人情的开掘和描绘上,从人道主义的伦理角度来观照人以及人与人、人与集体的关系等,将以人为本的伦理观念和价值理想推广到政治领域中,使政治生活也充满了人情味。伦理话语是其小说叙述的元话语。

In Chinese contemporary fiction history,especially in the period of 17--year fiction and Culture Revolution fiction,there＇s always a tension between ethics and politics. Guo Chengqing often gazes at humanity and relationship in his writing. From the perspective of humanism, he describes many characters and the relationship between persons and tries to humanize the political life. The ethic discourse is the mate discourse for his narration.
