社会资本是解释经济增长和经济发展的一个重要因素;然而,社会资本对经济增长和经济发展的总效用,至今仍没有给出一个合理的解释。建立一个社会资本总效用函数,可以时这个问题进行比较合理的解释;同时,论证社会资本存在的一个边界,便可进一步说明社会资本在不同社会形态中的效用差别,从而找出社会资本边界的最优选择。

It is important to explain the economic growth and development by involving social capital. However, there is no rational explanation for its total effectiveness. In this article, a function is set up to explain the total effectiveness of social capital reasonably. Meanwhile, it is also elaborated that social capital has a boundary. In addition, this article further distinguishes the differences of social capital in different society so as to find out the optimal choice.
