高鹗“传胪”之称辨析

《红楼梦》续书作者高,旧有“传胪”之称。查“传胪”本为宣布进士名单的仪礼行为,后由动词转化为名词,成为进士名单中的专用称谓。明代科举,“传胪”并指二甲、三甲第一名;清代科举,则偏指二甲第一名。根据有关资料,高于乙卯恩科所中名次为三甲第一名。就清代科举制来说,称其为“传胪”,实不够准确;但放在明清文化大背景中,称其为“传胪”亦非全无根据。

According to rules of Qing Dynasty. it is incompletely accurate that Gao E was named ＂Chuanlu＂. But put it in the great background of culture in Ming and Qing Dynasty. it is not without good grounds.
