Discussion on the significance of library's literature preservation from the view of the change of literature carrier

在悠久的历史长河中,人类创造和运用了符号系统,创造出记录语言的文字,以及文字符号赖以存在的有形载体:甲骨、青铜器、石头、简牍、缣帛等等。文化的传承和积累多以文献为渠道,文献的价值在于信息的交流与传递,因此,构建图书馆文献保护体系,保护文化遗产,是图书馆义不容辞的责任。

In the centuries- old history, human being create and operate the symbol system, create the character to note language, create the tangible carrier of character, such as oracle bone, bronze vessel, stone, bamboo slip, and so on. Transmission and accumulation of culture usually take literature as channel, the value of literature rest with the communication and transfer of information. Therefore, building literature preservation system, protecting culture inheritance is the obligation of library.
