摘要
“天文地层学”是由旋回地层学等演变而成的一个新名词,可明确地与层序地层学等其他研究旋回的学科相区别。天文地层学的主要优点是把地质时间与天文因素相联系,它的研究成果可以有助于进行比阶一级年代地层单位更精细的划分;它是应用连续沉积物的自组织特性,求出其中由于响应天文轨道周期的影响而形成的旋回特性,可用以进行地层高分率的划分和对比。
The new term astrostratigraphy proposed in 2005 and developed from cyclostratigraphy can be clearly distinguished from other cycle based sub-disciplines of stratigraphy, such as sequence stratigraphy. The goal of astrostratigraphy is to use astronomical events to subdivide and to correlate the geologic time.
