摘要
Chronic pain is associated with alterations of neuronal systems involved in pain processing. Some suffering patients are not satisfactorily managed with currently available treatments. However, advances in the field of vector systems which have lower levels of inflammatory and immune responses, along with significant increases in our understanding of pain generating mechanisms and knowledge of tight control of transgene expression, will make gene-based approaches for the future management of pain a conceivable reality.
