Objective To study the expressions and correlations of cyclin G1, MDM2 and p53 protein in gastric carcinoma. Methods The expressions of cyclin G1. MDM2 and p53 protein in 54 cases of gastric carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemical methods. Results The positive rates of cyclin G1. MDM2 and p53 protein expressions in gastric carcinoma were 62. 96%. 53. 70% and 44. 44% respectively, while the expressions of cyclin G1 and p53 in normal tissue were negative, and the positive rate of MDM2 in normal tissue was 15%. There were significant differences between them (P〈0. 05). The positive exepression rate and intensity of cyclin G1 and MDM2 in gastric cancinoma was significantly correlated with tumor differentiation. Conclusion Cyclin G1, MDM2 and p53 might play an important role in the occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma.
