China＇s first space seed-breeding satellite SJ-8 was launched by a LM-2C launch vehicle from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on September 9, 2006. The satellite was put into the preset orbit and began to send back high resolution microscope images on the morning of September 10. The Xi＇an Satellite Tracking and Control Center is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and recovering SJ-8.
