真理·道德·上帝——南北战争前知识观对美国学院的影响

摘要 本文从知识观角度研究南北战争前的美国学院,认为南北战争前美国主导知识观——“真理统一性”的形成和发展既受制于当时美国知识发展水平,也决定于美国社会自身的特质。“真理统一性”知识观中知识服务于上帝,知识具有道德导向,所有知识都是统一的的基本命题完美地体现在学院的宗教性、学以进德和知识一体化的课程中。南北战争后,“真理统一性”知识观虽然丧失了其主导地位,但其对美国高等教育的影响仍然留在当今美国大学的道德教育和课程体系中。 The paper intends to study the American colleges in the Antebellum from the perspective of knowledge view. It concludes that the main knowledge view of 'the Unity of Truth' was developed and determined by the level of knowledge at that time and the characteristics of the American society. In this view of 'the Unity of Truth' , knowledge with the direction of morality serves the God and is embodied in the curriculum of American colleges in the Antebellum with the religious nature, moral purpose, and integrated knowledge. After the Civil War, 'the Unity of Truth' lost its dominant position, but its influence is still in the moral education and curriculum of today universities.
