教育是人的教育

"有用"的事功观念已成为当今的时代精神,教育因此而被理解为"培养有用的人才"的行动。于是,教育成为制造人才的机器,成了使人迷失良知和本心而异化为无人性的工具。因此必须确立教育培养人之为人的根本意旨,使教是成德之教、学是为己之学、育是心性之育,从而引发生出一个富有人性的"仁人"。

The idea of ＂being useful＂ has become the current spirit of the age. The education therefore is interpreted as the activity of ＂training useful talents＂. As a result, education became the machine making talents, and consequently the person lost intuitive knowledge and conscience, dissimilated as tool without human nature. For this reason, we must establish the education whose basic intention of attitude is to raise people as human beings, so that the teaching is to cultivate the students＇ moral integrity; the studying is for the oneself; the educating is nurturing of the disposition; thus initiating a ＂moral person＂ with rich human nature.
