《诗经》中“归”字所涉及的远古婚俗

On “Gui” in “Book of Poetry”:a Word Involving Conventions of Marriage

“归”字在《诗经》中的含义是相当丰富的,仅于归、归宁、大归三词就表现了妇女出嫁、回娘家、被遣的几种生活状态。对“归”字的不同理解也会造成对《诗经》文本的不同解读。本文试以《邶风·匏有苦叶》、《邶风·燕燕》和《豳风·七月》为例,对其中“归”字的几种约定俗成用法提出质疑。

＂Gui＂ is aChinese word with multiple connotations： In ＂Book of Poetry, it iS closely related to a Woman＇s marriage： ＂ Yugui＂ , ＂guining＂ and ＂ dagui＂ , three compound words containing ＂ gui＂ in ＂Book of Poety＂, mean ＂a woman getting married＂, a mamed woman returning to her mother＇s house ＂ and ＂a married woman being deserted by her husband＂ respcctiVcly. And different interprctations of some texts of the Book may result from different interpretations of the word ＂gui＂ This paper, by Choosing three poems-A＂ Farewell Song＂,＂ Waiting for Her Fiance＂ （ both taken from Songs Collected in Bei ）, and ＂Life of Peasants＂ （taken from Songs Collected in Bin）：for analysis; challenges some eStablished formulation about the word ＂gui＂ .
