The analytic graphics has been an important component of Schenkerian theory that continues to be explored by theorists. This article aims to provide a brief introduction of the background against which Schenkerian theory has evolved, to explain some analytic graphics methods and measures through case studies as well as relate to issues arising from the reading of Schenkerian analytic graphics.
