将钢结构建筑作为一种特定的建筑文化符号—即建筑语言加以研究,兼顾了针对建筑专业钢结构技术特征的理性剖析和将钢结构转化为承载着社会功能和文化内涵的建筑创作,借鉴语言学的构架,把钢结构建筑语言按以下三个层次:语法构成、语义表达和语用图景展开分析,全面、准确、系统、深刻地把握了钢结构建筑的物质特征和文化特征及其构成、表达和运用机制。

As a kind of specific architectural culture symbol - architectural language, the steel structured building is possessed of technical characteristics, social function and cultural connotation. In light of linguistics, the language of steel structured architecture comprises three strata： grammatical composition, semantic expression and pragmatic image. Only in this way of thinking can we all-rounded and accurately grasp the essential features, expression and implementation of steel structured building.
