在中国现代文学史上，“家族批判”是一个经典性的主题，作家们批判家族是基于改造社会的巨大热情。随着时代主题的变化，叙事型作品中的“家”依次成了“个性解放的障碍”、“革命的异物”、“抗战的阻力”。作家由批判家族从而批判一个制度，一种文化，体现出现代知识分子“感时忧国”的救世情怀。

In the history of modern Chinese literature,＂family criticism＂was a classical subject. The writers criticized family out of their great enthusiasm of transforming the society. In narrative works the＂family＂ was the hindrance of emancipation of personality, the dissident of revolution and the obstruction of war of resistance against aggression. By criticizing the elan system the writers criticized the social system and the culture, expressed their thoughts and feelings and showed their worries about the fate of their country.
