The signal-transferring theory helps employers to check out： applicants of various kinds of potential abilities and assign them to different positions. With the development of high education, more and more students have come of age to enter universities. The function of the signal of educational background has been weakened. In hiring faculty, we should not only consider the applicants＇ educational backgrounds, but also take applicants＇ academic abilities and academic potentials into consideration. Probation is a good method to resolve the problem.
