本文归纳分析了美国科技信息基础设施建设的宏观环境租条件，并通过介绍美国科技信息基础设施建设的一个案例——www．science．gov网站，分析了其建设的具体做法、经验和成效，指出了利用现代互联网技术跨部门整合科技信息资源、增加国家研发投入回报的重要性，提出了对中国科技信息机构改革和发展的建议。

A brief summary on the environment and conditions of American S＆T information infrastructure has been made. A detailed introduction on a case of www. science, gov web portal is given with emphasis on practices, experience and effects of S＆T information infrastructure in the United States. The importance of maximizing the return of R＆D investment and integrating the assets of S＆T information among agencies by using Internet technology has been pointed out. The proposals on the reform and development of China＇s S＆T information institutions have been put forward.
