Synthesis of Methocarbamol

愈创木酚甘油醚和碳酸二乙酯在乙醇钠作用下得到4-[(2-甲氧基)苯氧甲基)]-[1,3]二氧戊环-2-酮,在二氯乙烷中经浓氨水氨解得到美索巴莫粗品,用环己烷重结晶得到纯品,总收率约77%。

Methocarbamol was synthesized from guaiacol glyceryl ether by cyclization with diethylcarbonate in the presence of EtONa to obtain 4-（2-methoxyphenoxymethyl）- [1,3] dioxolan-2-one, which was subjected to reaction with NH3.H2O in dichloroethane and then recrystallization with cyclohexane with an overall yield of 77 %.
