Causes of internet addiction in undergraduates

目的:分析近10年来有关大学生网络成瘾的的文献,探讨大学生网络成瘾的成因。资料来源:应用计算机检索Pubmed数据库2000/2005期间的相关文章,检索词“internetaddiction,cause”,并限定语言种类为“English”。同时检索中国学术期刊全文数据库2000/2005期间的相关文章,检索词为“大学生,网络成瘾、相关因素”。资料选择:对资料进行初审,纳人标准:①大学生网络成瘾的因素研究。②网络成瘾的现状研究。无论是否应用了随机、对照及双盲法。排除文献中重复研究。资料提炼:共收集到相关文献30篇,按上述标准纳入21篇,其余文献均被排除。资料综合:机体某些生化因素会导致某些个体对成瘾的易感性,如脑化学失衡以及神经递质,包括染色体、激素及某些控制大脑活动或其他神经系统活动的化学物质或神经递质的过剩或缺乏;人格因素、认知-行为因素、心理动力学因素、社会支持、个体需要等心理因素也可导致网络成瘾的发生;网络成瘾的发生有一定的社会文化背景。当代大学生接受现代高等教育,自主意识又非常强烈,在文化品位上需要具有自己独特的个性,而网络正他们所需要的符合时代潮流、含有较高知识信息的新事物。大学生网络成瘾行为往往是以上诸多因素共同作用的结果。结论:大学生网络成瘾行为是诸多因素共同作用的结果。虽然大学生网络成瘾成因的研究已取得了一定的成果,但仍有许多因素有待确定,机制尚不明确。

OBJECTIVE： To analyze the articles related to undergraduate internet addiction in the past decade, and explore the cause of undergraduate internet addiction. DATA SOURCES： A computer-based search was conducted in Pubmed database for relevant articles published between 2000 and 2005 with the key germs of ＂internet addiction, cause＂, and the language was limited to English. Meanwhile, relevant Chinese articles from 2000 to 2005 were also searched in Chinese Academic Journal Index by computer using the key words of ＂undergraduate, internet addiction, Correlation Factor＂. STUDY SELECTION： The data were checked primarily. Inclusion criteria： ①Research on the cause of undergraduate internet addiction. ②Research on status quo of internet addiction, no matter they were randomized, control or double blind. Repetitive literatures were excluded. DATA EXTRACTION： Totally 30 related articles were collected, and 22 were in accordance with the inclusion criteria, the other articles were excluded. DATA SYNTHESIS： Some biochemical factors in organism would lead to the affectability to addiction such as cerebral chemical imbalance and neurotransmitter, including chromosome, hormone and some chemical materials controlling the cerebration and activities of other neural system or exceeded or lacked neurotransmitters. Personality factor, cognition-behavior factor, psychodynamics factor, social support, individual requirement etc. were causes of internet addiction. There was a certain social and cultural background of internet addiction. Modern undergraduates receive modern high-education, whose self-realization is strong, and they are requiring distinct characteristics of their own. Internet is just the new thing that in accordance with the trend of the times, which bring them higher and greater knowledge and information, and they are requiring it. The internet addiction of undergraduates is the results of multiple factors that mentioned above. CONCLUSION： The internet addiction of undergraduates is contributed by multiple factors. Despite certain outcome has been achieved in research on it, lots of factors are still unknown and the its mechanism is unclear.
