Watcher in Wheat Field — On Dwelling in Poetry in the Land Utopia by Hai Zi

大地乌托邦是海子诗歌的第一心理时期。诗人试图将麦子与诗歌、物质与精神统一于村庄、河流之中,构建一个“健康的麦地”。诗人坚信通过艰辛的劳动,人类最终能够诗意地生活在天地之间。大地乌托邦中,诗人立足大地,歌颂生存的艰难与劳动带来的慰藉,同时仰望天穹,感受神性的光芒。

The Land Utopia is the first psychological phase in the poem of Hai Zi （Cha Haisheng 1964-1989）. The poet attempts to put the combination of the wheat and the poem, the material and the spirit into the village and rivers to construct a ＂healthy wheat field. ＂ It is the poet＇s conviction that by hard work human beings will consequently live between the sky and the earth in poetry. In the Land Utopia, the poet bases himself on the land to pay tributes to the facts of hardship in existence and the relieve from labor, and in the mean time he looks up to the heaven to feel the rays of the deity.
