From two perspectives of the regional nationalism and acceptance to religions and culture, Influences of the Japanese aesthetic consciousness on garden design was discussed. The specific features of the Japanese aesthetic consciousness, such as ＂delicate＂, ＂simple but elegant＂, ＂mysterious＂, were summarized. Unique style of Japanese garden design was built up by these features.
