从“2005年亚太市长峰会”谈汉英公示语的翻译

On English Translation of Public Signs in Chinese in “APCS2005”

通过2005年亚太市长峰会翻译中存在的问题,翻译工作者纠错的责任,以及就其他城市在借助网络进行对外宣传这方面工作的一次调查的分析,提出建议：各城市均可有效利用网络这一媒介积极进行对外宣传,重点做好网站内容的翻译工作。

By analyzing some problems of translation and the responsibility of translators for the correction of translation mistakes on the past 2005 Asia Pacific Cities Summit （APCS）, and an investigation conducted by the author on the international communication on the part of cities in China by means of network, this paper puts forward the following proposal： each city could make a good use of network to introduce itself vigorously to the outside world by attaching great importance to the translation of website materials.
