摘要
引入了一种新的ATM交换结构,该交换结构采用共享输入缓冲区的方法提高缓冲区利用率,减少信元丢失,采用扩展输入端口策略提高系统吞吐率,减少交换延时.仿真性能分析表明该结构可以有效地达到上述要求.同时,合适的缓冲区控制策略使该交换结构可以保持信元次序.具体实现了该交换,并给出了均匀业务、突发业务下的性能仿真结果.
A new ATM switch architecture is described in which a shared memory is used to improve the buffer utilization and to reduce the cell loss, and an 'input-port expansion' policy is adopted to increase the throughput rate of the system and to shorten the switching delay. A performance analysis by simulation shows that desirable results can be obtained. An appropriate memory control method makes the cell sequence well preserved. Design details and performance simulation results are given with respect to cases of smooth service and burst service.
