All Roads Lead to Rome--A Comparison of Two Versions of The Trader's Wife

从诗歌翻译的形式问题出发,通过比较《长干行》的两种英译,考察两种译诗形式在处理诗歌的节奏、意象、典故、风格等方面的特点和效果,认为两种形式都较成功地实现了原诗的传译。诗歌翻译形式虽然不同,但只要运用得体,都能达到异曲同工之妙。

This paper makes a comparison on two versions of The Trader＇s Wife, embarking on the discussion of forms in verse translation. Through the analysis of the two versions form the perspectives of rhythm, image, allusion and style, it is feasible to say that there is more than one form to achieve verse translation.
