On Xu Wei's Ink and Wash Painting Works of Birds and Flowers by Means of Vigorous Freehand Brushwork

明代大画家徐渭独创的大写意花鸟画,在我国绘画艺术史上具有深远的影响。其画主要特点有三;一是集绘画、书法和文学于一体,属典型的文人画;二是采用了酣畅淋漓的泼墨法;三是采用了豪放纵逸的大写意笔法。

Ink and wash painting works of birds and flowers by means of vigorous freehand brushwork created by grandmaster Xu Wei in the Ming Dynasty had far-reaching effects in the history of our country＇s painting art. This kind of painting works have three characteristics： first, it is a combination of painting, calligraphy and literature, typical of literary painting works painted by literati; second, it adopted the easy and flee ink-splash method; third, it adopted the bold and unrestrained vigorous freehand brushwork.
