On the Double Function of Chinese Cultural Tradition to Scientific and Technological Development

中国文化传统对科技发展有着两方面的作用:其积极因素起着参与、建构、修复、导向和启示作用,其消极方面会产生阻碍和制约作用。科学精神对传统文化价值观具有破坏断裂效应、诱导重建效应和平衡融合效应。要吸收优秀传统,摈弃消极因素,构建有利于创新的人文环境。

Chinese cultural tradition performs different functions on the development of Science and Technology. Its positive factors play a role of participation,construction, renovation, guide, inspiration to scientific and technological development, while those negative factors resist and restrain scientific and technological development. The scientific spirit has different effects on the value of traditional culture, such as broken effect, guide and reconstruction effent and balance and integration effect. We should absorb the outstanding tradition and discard negative factors in order to form a kind of human environment that benefit to innovation.
