The network competitive intelligence must be filtered and cleaned because of its heterogeneous and distributed characteristics. After distinguishing the difference between filtering and cleaning on the one side and information retrieval on the other, the author presents the filtering and cleaning framework of a network competitive intelligence collection system and discusses its operating mechanism, The author points out that an intelligent design of the rule learner and the cleaning filter in accordance with the requirement of the system is necessary in order to realize effective filtering and cleaning.
