普通用途英语和专门用途英语异同之比较

A Contrastive Study of EGP and ESP

目前我国高校的英语教学内容与高中阶段的英语教学内容有着相当程度的重复,从而造成了教与学资源的浪费。本文指出,为了避免这种浪费,我国高校公共英语教育的出路在于将公共英语教学的重点向特殊用途英语教育转移。本文通过比较的方法,分析了特殊用途英语和普通用途英语之间在教学目的、教材选择、教学方法、教学效果评估手段等方面的异同,阐释了特殊用途英语的本质,试图对这种转移的可行性做一些理论上的探讨。

There exists a repetition to a rather high degree between the English teaching contents for non-English majors in institutes of higher learning and for the students in senior high schools in China at present, which has resulted in a great waste of teaching and learning resources. The writers of this paper point out that the solution to this problem rests in the transfer of the teaching focus from English for General Purposes （EGP） to English for Special Purposes （ ESP）. For this purpose, the writers of this paper intend to conduct some theoretical analyses into the feasibility of this transfer by making a eontrastive study on the differences between EGP and ESP with regard to the teaching aims, the selection of teaching materials, the teaching methods, the evaluation, etc.
