On the Difficulty of Translating Chinese Political Documents into English and its Solutions

政治文献翻译是对外宣传的重要途径,同时也是他国及他国人了解我国国情、方针政策、政治制度、政治立场等最权威的来源。本文以翻译特点为切入口,通过对译例进行具体分析,试图探讨政治文献翻译的难点及其表现形式和成因,并针对这些问题提出相应的解决办法,以便更好地促使中西方政治、文化的交流。

The C-E translation of political documents is the main avenue to external publicity and also the authoritative source for foreign countries and their people to keep abreast of China＇s conditions, principles and policies, political system and stand. After studying the characteristics of translating political documents and analyzing the examples, this paper is an attempt to discuss the difficulty of such translation and its manifestations and causes, and also suggests some corresponding solutions in order to contribute to the political and cultural exchange between China and the West.
