One of the main factors influencing the performance of health service is the process of providing service, that is the clinical diagnosis and treatment process, as well as the needed all types of health technologies, including human resource, equipment, facility, medicine, etc. Essential healthcare technology package （EHTP） is an administrative tool for optimizing the clinical diagnosis and treatment process and health technology allocation, through which can implement optimizing intervention on health technology and then promote and improve the performance of service providers. The paper introduces the methodology, technical route and study design of EHTP, as well as the feasibility of its application in quality management for single disease, with the aim to provide evidence-based basis for decision-maker and then invest the limited healthcare technology into the most cost-effective health service project.
