An Analysis of the Evolution of the CPC's Policy towards Taiwan

从新中国成立后中国共产党中央历代领导集体对“一个中国”内涵的解释、解决台湾问题的“时间表”、和平解决与使用武力“两手准备”和对台工作重心之转移的变化上,可以清晰地解读中共对台政策的演变路径。即在坚持“一个中国”原则不动摇的前提下,以宽广的眼光审视世界和两岸关系发展大势,与时俱进,不断注入新思维,推动两岸关系朝着“和平发展”的方向演进。

The changes in the interpretations of the connotations of ＂one China＂, in the ＂time table＂ for the solution of Taiwan Question, in the dual preparations for peaceful solution and resorting to arms and the shifts in the focus of work with regard to Taiwan on the part of the successive generations of CPC collective leadership clearly point to the path of evolution of the CPC＇s policy towards Taiwan. While adhering firmly to the principle of ＂one China＂, the CPC leaders have looked at the general trend of the world and the relations between both sides of the Taiwan Straits in a broad perspective, kept up with the times, steadily evolved new thinking on the Taiwan Question and pushed the relations across the straits towards the direction of ＂peaceful development＂.
