Evolution of Relationship of Administrative Subordination of the New Fourth Army and the Units under Its Command

新四军是第二次国共合作的产物,它不仅接受中国共产党的领导,在皖南事变前也接受国民党政府军事机构的指挥,而皖南事变后则完全成为中国共产党领导的革命军队。新四军所属各部机构调整较频繁,指挥关系变动较大,与新四军密切相关的中共组织变动也较多。

The New Fourth Army was a product of the second cooperation between the KMT and the CPC. It was not only led by the CPC but also put under the command by the military authorities of the KMT before the South Anhui Incident. After the incident, it became a revolutionary fighting force under the sole leadership of the CPC. There were frequent organizational shakeups in the units under the New Fourth Army and major changes in the commanding relationship, so were the Changes in the Party organizations closely related to the New Fourth Army.
